This is a must-have for any teacher looking to make American Imperialism easy to understand and visualize on a map (two different maps in this case; a North America map, and a Pacific Ocean/islands map). Students follow along with simple step-by-step directions to create their own detailed maps by the end.

This resource includes both the 25-slide follow-along PowerPoint AND a two-sided blank map (one of North America, and one of the Pacific Islands). Students follow along as the teacher sets the pace, allowing new items to appear on the map at the click of a button. Students will turn the two blank maps into information-packed resources. The last few slides also include higher order thinking discussion questions (DOK 1, 2, and 3). Items include everything from the Louisiana Purchase, Mexican Cession, and Puerto Rico, to Hawaii, Alaska, the Philippines and Midway.
