This resource draws 12 comparisons between the story-line of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and the real life history of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, and World War Two. I offer a similar series of PowerPoint slides that present elements of the original trilogy and prequel trilogy (Obi Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Anakin/Darth Vader, the Emperor and the evil Galactic Empire) as compared to the rise of Nazi Germany and World War Two. However, if one were to step back and consider the entirety of Star Wars canon (Episodes 1-7), it might also be viewed in a very different way. This series of slides imagines the Galactic Empire of the original films as analogous to the German Empire under the Kaiser, founded in 1871 and falling apart in 1918 at the end of World War One. That would allow for the evil “First Order” of Kylo Ren in newer film (Episode 7) to be paralleled with the rise of Nazi Germany in the 1930s.
